What is Instantly Italy?
Have you just landed on this website and do not know what to expect? I’ve created this page to clarify all your doubts, answer all your questions, and give you a better idea of what you can find here.
First of all, who are you?
Are you a traveler who is organizing the trip of his/her dreams to Italy?
Are you learning Italian and looking for a native speaker whom you can practice your speaking skills with?
Are you a lover of all things Italian and just want to know more about the culture?
Well, if you said: “Hell, yes! It’s me”, to one or more of these questions, then Instantly Italy is the place for you. I’ve created this website as a place where you can find all the tools you need to enjoy Italy at its best, be them a customized travel guide, a language course or just a cultural insight into this crazy but charming country.
Say that you are an independent traveler who likes to do things on his/her own, but doesn’t want to miss all the beautiful opportunities offered by a local tour guide.
Say that you want to visit Italy “as the Italians do”, you want to enjoy things in the Italian way, getting a better feeling of how’s life there and really enjoying la bella vita. Say that you do not want to miss the chance of a great aperitivo basking in the sun of a lovely terrace, surrounded by locals, you want to avoid tourist restaurants and their plastic menus, you want to make the most of your stay and visit Italy according to your interests and likes.
Well, Italy Your Own Way is especially for you.
Italy Your Own Way is your customized travel guide, tailored to your needs and likes.
I’ve created it because I love traveling and I do not like organized tours, but I hate missing the cool things, the places where the locals go and the things locals do, the must-dos and you-can’t-miss-it. This is why, when I have to leave for a new place, I always spend days researching online, reading blogs, asking tips to people who have already been there and seen the place I want to visit.
With Italy Your Own Way, it’s me doing this work for you, it’s me being the friend in Italy you ask for advice.[If you want to know more about Italy Your Own Way, you can check this page or this blog post].
Maybe you are not planning on visiting Italy soon but are hard at work on your Italian skills.
Maybe you have already visited Italy and fell in love with the language or maybe you are studying the language to be more prepared when you finally will be able to buy that ticket and go to il bel paese. Or maybe you do not give a damn about visiting Italy, you just love the Italian language.
No matter why you are studying the language, you surely need a native speaker to practice your speaking skills with. You can study grammar and vocabulary on your own, but when it comes to speaking practice, there’s nothing better than working with a native. In such way, you’ll not only practice your spoken Italian but also improve your listening comprehension – so that you do not feel embarrassed when you’re in Italy.
If you are looking for some speaking practice, Chiacchieriamo is for you.
With Chiacchieriamo you can practice the Italian language without moving from home.
Having learned languages all my life, I know how difficult it is to gain a certain fluency in speaking – I have been studying German for years and never gained it, ahem. You need to practice a lot and, if you are studying quite an uncommon language like Italian, it can be difficult to find a native speaker nearby – and willing to spend time with you.
With Chiacchieriamo you just need a Skype account and an Internet connection and you can start chatting in Italian.[If you want to know more about Chiacchieriamo, you can check this page].
It might also be that you neither plan on visiting Italy soon nor are studying the language. Or maybe you are doing both but are very interested in the Italian culture as well.
Maybe you arrived here because you want to know more about it. You’d like to dive deep into Italy and its culture, know more of its traditions and way of life, learn about the quirks and habits of Italian people, exploring this country and its culture without moving from home.
To give you the opportunity of visiting Italy without moving from home, experiencing the Italian life without leaving your couch or your desk, I’ve created Be Italian For A Month, your 30-day virtual journey to Italy.
If you decide to join the adventure and Be Italian For A Month, you’ll receive an email a day for a month, 30 insights into the Italian life and culture delivered straight to your inbox. One day you’ll learn about certain Italian traditions, the other day you’ll go on a day trip to Rome, one day you’ll learn some basic Italian language, some other days you’ll read about the Italian mamma or the way we love our pasta. Every day there will be a surprise, directly from Italy. And if you love it, you can also Be Italian For A Year.[If you want to know more about Be Italian For A Month, you can check this blog post, which tells you why I created it, and this other one, which goes into deeper detail about the program].
If you want to give it a try and learn more about what I do, you can sign up to my newsletter (also known as the Vespa Rides). If you do, you’ll get post updates and random yet cool stuff about life in Italy.
