There is a new service I have been wanting to offer for a while and, finally, the time has come.
When I started Instantly Italy, I was still working as a translator full time and the only service I could offer here, besides the e-courses via email, was Chiacchieriamo.
Chiacchieriamo, my Italian speaking practice service, gives people who are currently studying Italian (or have done it in the past) the chance to speak Italian with a native speaker.
When I was still busy translating boring user manuals and contracts, I didn’t have to time to focus on preparing study material, exercises, grammar lessons and so I decided that the only help I could offer at the time was Skype chats to help people improve their fluency and, most importantly, gain confidence when they have to speak Italian in Italy.
I have to admit that Chiacchieriamo has given me countless reasons to be happy. For me, it was a way to distract from the tiring translating work I was doing and meet people from all over the world. As my students know very well, I love chatting and this makes Chiacchieriamo not feel like work at all! Moreover, it constantly gives me the opportunity of traveling without moving from home while making friends at the same time. I am a very lucky teacher, I have to say.
The most important thing, though, it’s the students’ point of view and it is what makes me most proud. All of my students, so far, are really happy with the service and told me that it has helped them boost their confidence and feel more at ease when speaking Italian, increase their vocabulary and gain overall fluency – by the way, I’ve added some reviews to Chiacchieriamo page, in case you want to read them.
Chiacchieriamo is a very important service because it gives students the chance of chatting with a native, something that might be a bit difficult if you study Italian but you don’t live in Italy. But I felt that there was something missing, that it was time to add something new to my website.
As I said, Chiacchieriamo is speaking practice only. It is perfect if you want to practice your speaking and comprehension skills but it can’t help you if you want to work on grammar, writing, and reading. This is why I have created a new service.
My new service is called Ti aiuto io! and it is a language tutoring service to help you study Italian on your own yet with a teacher by your side.
This service is intended for those who have begun studying Italian on their own but are not satisfied with their progress. It is for those students who, like me, do not like standard computerized language programs or apps, where there is no interaction with a teacher. It is for those who are dissatisfied with old-style Italian classes. It is especially for those people who need someone to guide them and hold them accountable to really thrive in a program or learning process.
The purpose of Ti aiuto io! is all contained in the name of the program: I will help you. I will discuss with each prospective student his or her learning situation and goals and I will create a program that includes self-study, exercises, live chats, and constant feedback and check-ins from me.
My role is to always be by the students’ side to encourage them, to answer their questions, to chat with them and, most importantly, to always keep them on track and remind them what they need to do to reach their goal.
Basically, I will be a personal trainer in language learning!
I am super excited by this new offer because I have the feeling that it makes my services more complete and will be able to help not only those who look for speaking practice but also the people who are interested in an Italian language tutoring service to work harder on their language study.
